Check out this audio, I think you’ll enjoy it. I’ve included a couple of choice quotes below.
“…exposed Allen’s votes to increase the national debt by $3.2 trillion, for 52,000 spending earmarks, and for votes to increase his own salary” – Patrick Sweeney, Former Chair of the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) – when George Allen was governor
“George Allen is the epitome of what’s wrong in Washington.” – Jeff Frederick, Former Chair of the RPV, after George Allen lost his Senate seat in 2006
It’s also worth putting the comments by two former RPV chairs in the context of the utter bull**** being spewed out by Americans for Prosperity (prosperity for the Koch brothers and other billionaires, that is, certainly NOT for the rest of us) about Tim Kaine. In fact, it’s not Tim Kaine but George Allen and his pal George W. Bush who worked to turn Bill Clinton’s surpluses into massive deficits as far as the eye can see. Now, Allen and his “SuperPAC” allies have the chutzpah to claim the exact opposite, that Allen’s a fiscal conservative? I guess it’s legal to run total lies on the public airwaves (although don’t stations have ANY responsibility to not run demonstrably false garbage?), but the public also has a responsibility to look into this stuff and punish the lying liars for their falsehoods. Just as with children, if you reward them for lying, you’ll just encourage them to do it more. So don’t do it with George Allen and his slimeball friends!
