I don't know anything about Ben Hudson, but I received this and thought I'd pass it along.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Officially Files to Seek 5th District Democratic Nomination
Palmyra, VA – Fluvanna resident Ben Hudson has officially submitted paperwork to the 5th Congressional District Democratic Committee to seek the Democratic nomination to unseat Congressman Robert Hurt. As a retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel, former small business owner, current educator at Charlottesville public schools, and resident of Fluvanna County Colonel Hudson believes he would bring to the position a unique blend of military service experience, an understanding of the issues, and a compassion for our constituents that is unmatched.
Hudson is seeking the Democratic nomination to represent Virginia’s 5th district because he believes our current representative has let the people down. “He, for example, refused to extend unemployment insurance for millions of Americans, voted to shut down the government and to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Once in Washington, I will make employment in the 5th district my number one priority by supporting pro-job creation, fair trade, and legislation that foster growth and innovation while protecting the environment and strengthening our schools.” Hudson stated.
Over the coming months, Ben will continue to visit with residents of the 5th district and look forward to the discussion of these and other issues unique to your localities. As the campaign continues, you will be able to visit www.BenHudson2014.com to offer input on key legislative priorities and track the campaign’s progress.
Voters will be able to meet Ben at various events throughout the district in the upcoming weeks. To find out about these events please feel free to visit www.benhudson2014.com and sign up for updates.
