What Excuses Will Barbara Comstock Make Today To Duck Her Right-Wing Agenda?

From the 10th CD Democratic Committee:

LOUDOUN, Va. – Barbara Comstock and John Foust will meet today at the 10th District Debate in Leesburg. The question we’re wondering is: what outlandish excuses Comstock will come up with this time to try and hide her right-wing agenda?

During the last debate when Barbara Comstock was confronted about her support for overturning Roe v. Wade, Comstock actually tried to claim that women’s healthcare “would not come into play in Congress,” prompting another protest from Virginia women. Congress has taken at least 105 votes on issues of reproductive freedom.

Of course, Comstock and her campaign have plenty of practice dodging responsibility and making up excuses when they’ve been caught lying, falsifying disclosure reports, or trying to mislead Northern Virginia residents. See for yourself:

•         “We asked Comstock’s campaign for proof and were told it made an error.” [Politifact, 7/20/14]
•       “Touting her support for the East Sea legislation in Richmond, Comstock described herself in a statement as a ‘chief co-patron’ of the successful bill. That’s not quite accurate… A spokeswoman said the mistake was a staff error.” [Washington Post, 8/16/14]

Comstock failed to report that a public-relations company she owns took in a total of $85,000 in 2012 trying to help Mitt Romney become president, an apparent breach of congressional ethics rules… an aide to Comstock, the Republican nominee in the race to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Frank R. Wolf (R-Va.), said that the oversight was unintentional.” [Washington Post, 9/5/14]
