Great ad by Democratic State Senate candidate Dr. Jill McCabe against one of the most heinous members of the Virginia General Assembly, or possibly any state legislature in the country, Dick Black. In the ad, Dr. McCabe mentions a few of the almost innumerable crazy things Black has said and done over the years. Let me just add a few more from Black’s illustrious background: Dick Black on Spousal Rape, “Nighties,” etc.; Republican Loudoun-sanity Continues: Dick Black Rails Against Gays in the Military; VA Sen. Dick Black (R) Praises “Extraordinary Gallantry” of Syrian Armed Forces; Sen. Dick Black (R-Homophobia): Polygamy “just more natural” than homosexuality . Yeah, this guy’s certifiable.
By the way, given that the 2015 Virginia legislative elections are all about motivating the respective parties’ bases to turn out, this is the type of ad our candidates should be running, not one I saw from a Democratic House of Delegates candidate recently that was all about “both sides,” “working across the aisle with Republicans,” blah blah blah. First off, that’s a bunch of bull**** factually speaking. Second, it’s not going to motivate the Democratic base to turn out on November 3. Dr. McCabe’s ad, on the other hand, is both 100% factual and also motivating, which is what you’d think all Democrats would want their ads to be.
