Just posting the video for now from last night’s Arlington County Democratic Committee (ACDC) School Board debate. Candidates are current School Board member Nancy Van Doren (up for reelection); Tannia Talento (see my interview with her), Michael Shea (see my interview with him) and Chaz Crismon (would be happy to interview him, haven’t done so yet). Overall, I thought all the candidates were knowledgeable and passionate about the schools. On style, I’d say that the two men need to learn to speak loudly enough to be heard, not to swallow their words or talk too fast, etc. You’ll notice the moderator repeatedly telling them to speak up. I also heard from a friend who was there last night, sitting about 8 rows back, who said she could barely hear the two men. Of course, having microphones at debates might be nice as well. 🙂
