From the LuAnn Bennett for Congress:
“No Comment Comstock” Continues to Dodge Trump Support
McLean – Frank Wolf, former Virginia 10th district representative and long-time mentor to Rep. Comstock, endorsed Donald Trump for President of the United States over the weekend. Comstock declined to comment on her former boss’ endorsement, refusing to even respond to the largest paper in her district.
Comstock was a “trusted aide” to former Rep. Wolf, calling him the “conscience of Congress” and proudly standing with him during her 2014 election. His endorsement of Trump makes Comstock’s position – to “no comment” her way through her campaign – even more untenable, and reveals how deeply cynical it is.
This comes days after her top lieutenant Loudoun County Republican Committee Chairman Will Estrada confirmed Comstock’s support, telling the BBC, “Barbara is doing what a lot of voters are doing – they support the principles that Donald Trump stands for as a Republican…”
“With her mentor’s endorsement of Donald Trump, it’s even more clear that Rep. Comstock will vote for Trump this November,” said Bennett spokesman Robert Howard. “As Comstock’s top lieutenant recently confirmed, Comstock and Trump share the same principles. Voters in the 10th District who are rejecting Trump won’t be fooled by Comstock’s charade on Election Day.”
