Trump-Gillespie Agenda Poses a Clear Threat to Virginians’ Jobs, Economy, and Health Care

Richmond  — Prior to the first general election debate of the gubernatorial election, the Democratic Party of Virginia will launch the “Trump Gillespie 2017 Tour” to introduce Virginians to the 2017 Republican ticket: Donald Trump and Ed Gillespie.

The two-day tour — which includes stops in Richmond, Norfolk, Charlottesville and Arlington — will highlight Ed Gillespie’s enthusiastic support for Donald Trump’s most extreme policies and the threat the Trump-Gillespie agenda poses to Virginia’s economy, health care, and working families.

Democratic Party of Virginia Chairwoman Susan Swecker, State Senator Jenn McClellan and Delegate Jeff Bourne will kick off the tour this morning in Richmond, and will discuss Gillespie’s long record of supporting Donald Trump.

On Monday, Gillespie bragged to reporters that he had close friends in the Trump Administration, and has repeatedly backed Trump’s toxic agenda — from attacks on women’s health to tax cuts for the rich. And even as Republican governors and senators from across the country have come out against Trumpcare, Gillespie has remained silent — despite the fact that the bill would take care away from hundreds of thousands of Virginians.
