The Danica Roem for Virginia House of Delegates campaign released its first television ad this morning, called “Beat.” According to an email from Danica:
It’s a cable buy that we plan to air through the election… focus[ing] on my background as the lead reporter of the Gainesville Times from 2006-2015, when I authored more than 2,500 news stories about my lifelong home of the greater Prince William County area. The ad specifically focuses on a story I authored Sept. 10, 2014 when I outed Amazon as the owner of the controversial data center in Haymarket when Dominion Energy (then Dominion Virginia Power) officials refused to disclose it (see attached) and how my experience as a journalist will allow me to bring a reporter’s eye to Richmond.
I don’t know about you, but kinda like the idea of replacing crazy, bigoted Del. “Sideshow Bob” Marshall (far-right R) with someone who: a) is sane, reasonable and thoughtful; b) will actually get stuff done in Richmond; c) will take on powerful interests like Dominion Power; and d) will “bring a reporter’s eye to Richmond.” For all those reasons, I say “go Danica” and encourage everyone to support her in this winnable Prince William County district!
