Now that we’re into 2018, I’m going to be focusing a lot more on key House of Representatives primaries, such as in VA-02, VA-05, VA-07 and VA-10. Speaking of VA-10, see below for the latest endorsement (statement and video), which I think is an interesting one — 2017 Democratic House of Delegates candidate Donte Tanner, who came soooo close to knocking off Del. Tim Hugo (R), has just endorsed Alison Friedman for the 2018 nomination to run against (and beat) Rep. Barbara Comstock (R) and will be serving as Friedman’s campaign chair.
Other VA-10 Democratic candidates’ endorsements include – and note that this is not meant to be a comprehensive list: State Sen. Jennifer Wexton (Reps. Gerry Connolly and Donald McEachin; a slew of State Senators, Delegates and other elected officials); Dan Helmer (VoteVets, other national security figures, New Politics); Lindsey Davis Stover (Pride Fund to End Gun Violence, Wendy Davis, Bill Richardson, Winchester Mayor David Smith, Obama administration Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, etc.); Paul Pelletier (n.a.); Deep Sran (former Loudoun County Democratic Committee Chair Mike Turner); Julia Biggins (n.a.); Dave Hanson (n.a.); Alison Friedman (other than Donte Tanner, she’s also been endorsed by Dolores Huerta, Khizr Khan and Gloria Steinem).

Donte Tanner on his endorsement of Alison Friedman:
I’m proud today to announce that I am signing on as Chair of Alison Friedman’s campaign for Congress in 2018.
I’m joining Alison’s campaign because I know she shares my values and the values of so many northern Virginia families – and I know she’ll make a fantastic member of Congress. I believe my role is to—as I’ve told Alison—help others see what I do:
She brings to this race a deep understanding of the federal government and how to make it work for Northern Virginians. She’s spent her career advancing progressive values in partnership with business—figuring out how make sure good policy is workable and inclusive. Like a lot of moms I know, Alison shows up when people are watching—and when they aren’t—caring deeply, figuring out a path forward, and rolling up her sleeves for what is right.
If we’re going to defeat Barbara Comstock this year, we need to put forward the strongest contrast to her. You have that in Alison— a strong, independent, service and results-oriented leader.
From Alison Regarding Endorsement
I’m honored to have Donte’s endorsement, and thrilled to have him serve as my campaign chair. As a veteran, small business owner, and parent, Donte reflects the heart, values, and work ethic of Northern Virginians and will be a tremendous asset to our campaign.
