This afternoon in Prince William County, citizen after citizen stood up to assert three main things at the County Board meeting: 1) that racism and bigotry of any kind should be completely unacceptable in Prince William County; 2) that the Prince William County Board members need to make it absolutely clear that racism and bigotry of any kind – including KKK fliers left on the doorsteps and in the yards of families in the New Bristow Village & Gainesville communities – is not going to be tolerated; and 3) that Corey Stewart should be held accountable “for fostering these events” and should be removed from the Board as “a blight on this community” and as someone who has “flaunted opportunism that opened the door for the KKK to come to Prince William County.” The truth hurts – although Corey, true to form, wasn’t even there to hear it. Fortunately, though, a bunch (13 by my count) of Prince William County citizens WERE there today, making their feelings absolutely clear regarding the KKK…and regarding what they think about Corey Stewart. Nice job by everyone (with one exception, an individual who tried to argue that what actually happened didn’t actually happen) who spoke today!
