Corey Stewart Attacks Tim Kaine’s Christian Missionary Work
Swecker: With Stewart, GOP Has Gone From ‘Religious Right’ to ‘Anti-Religious Wrong’
Richmond, VA — Corey Stewart appears to be losing it. In tweet after tweet after twe
As a young man, Kaine spent a year living and working in Honduras as a Christian missionary. While there, he took the skills he had learned in his father’s ironworking shop near the stockyards of Kansas City to teach Honduran children carpentry and welding at a school for underprivileged kids.
“With their ticket leader Corey Stewart’s attacks on Christian missionaries, the Virginia GOP has gone from the Religious Right to the Anti-Religious Wrong,” said DPVA Chair Susan Swecker. “Tim Kaine is a man of deep Christian faith who chose to spend part of his life serving the less fortunate in Honduras and living out his values by helping poor kids learn skills. Stewart’s latest attacks reveals that he is someone with no character and no regard for faithful Virginians who dedicate their lives to selflessly serving others – something Corey Stewart knows nothing about.”
“Corey Stewart would rather climb a tree to tell a lie, than stand on the ground and tell the truth,” Swecker added.
Even conservative activists, like Richard Allen Fox, have decried Stewart’s tweets.
