Democratic Party of Virginia Sues State Board of Elections to Stop Voter Petition Fraud by Rep. Scott Taylor (R-VA02)

From attorney “BREAKING: GOP Congressman Taylor’s staff/operatives collected forged signatures to help an independent candidate who is under federal indictment get on the ballot to run against him. Today we sued the State of Virginia to stop this fraud.”  See the lawsuit, below. Two lines that jumped out at me are: 1) “The Board, its members, the Department of Corrections, and the Commissioner have an affirmative legal duty to prevent Brown’s name from being printed on the ballot, and this Court should order them to comply with that duty through a writ of mandamus”; 2) “The fraudulent effort to prop up Brown’s candidacy and ensure that she appeared on the general election ballot was not just egregious and widespread, it was flagrant.”
