From the Tim Kaine for Senate campaign:
New Kaine TV Ad Features Testimonials of Virginia Veterans About Kaine’s Support for Helping Veterans Get Jobs
Ad Will Join Safety and Security Focused Ad in Combined Rotation Across Virginia — Further Emphasizing Kaine’s Support for the Military, Service Members, and Veterans
Reagan and Jeremiah Sampson, a wife and husband from Bedford, Virginia, who both served in the Armed Forces, share their personal stories in a new testimonial TV ad from the Kaine campaign. The ad spotlights Senator Tim Kaine’s first bill in the Senate — the Troop Talent Act — which became law and focuses on helping veterans get civilian jobs when they transition out of service. The Sampsons, who are part of a proud multi-generational military family, outline their support for Kaine’s efforts to bring Democrats and Republicans together to craft bipartisan solutions to help combat veteran unemployment. “Finding jobs for veterans after coming home is tough,” Jeremiah, an Iraq War veteran and Republican, says, before adding, “When Tim Kaine heard that, he promised to do something about it.”
Supporting veterans, the military and their families has been a central focus of Kaine’s Senate tenure. As a member of the Armed Services Committee, the father of a U.S. Marine, and a Senator for one of the most military-connected states, Kaine has fought for increased military funding, a troop pay raise, and a number of employment-related proposals to assist veterans and military families. Kaine was successful in passing key provisions of his bills to expand hiring and career opportunities for military spouses, improve access to continuing education programs, help ensure military families can find affordable child care, expand transition and counseling resources, increase small business opportunities for military spouses, provide more opportunities for family wellness programs on military bases, and address the constant transfers and moves military families experience.
The ad will join the recently released “Safe” airing in the Richmond, Roanoke, Norfolk and Tri-Cities markets beginning Thursday. It is part of a six-figure buy this week. Taken together, the ads strongly emphasize Kaine’s support for the military, service members and veterans, while keeping Americans safe and secure.
