Yep, the right-wingnut Republican Times-Disgrace/Richmond Times-Dispatch editorial board actually endorsed Dave Brat the other day, bizarrely/insanely calling him “an energetic original thinker who’s never afraid to speak truth to power.” In fact, Brat is a member of the extremist House “Freedom Caucus,” headed up by “Gym Jordan,” and is hard right on pretty much everything. But wait, it gets worse, believe it or not: Brat is actually a fan of Alex Jones (check out the audio, below, if you can stand it), praising Jones for supposedly “educating people,” for supposedly being a “true populist” and “one of the best up there.”
In fact, Brat’s pal Alex Jones believes, among other things, is a vociferous “gun rights advocate,” anti-vaxxer, believer in “weather weapons” (don’t ask!), promoter of the “white genocide conspiracy theory,” proponent of the extreme/unfounded belief in “the United States government…being involved in the Oklahoma City bombing and the September 11 attacks, as well as claiming that two school shootings [Sandy Hook Elementary School and Stoneman Douglas High School] were ‘false flag’ operations.” On a Virginia-related note, Jones is being sued by former Tom Perriello Chief of Staff Brennan Gilmore for defamation (Jones called Gilmore, falsely of course, a “shill” for the “deep state,” then “mobilized followers to launch a campaign of harassment,” after Gilmore posted video of the deadly Charlottesville neo-Nazi attack that killed Heather Heyer).
So yeah, this is the guy, Alex Jones, who Dave Brat praised as “educating people,” for supposedly being a “true populist” and “one of the best up there.” With that, you know what you need to do: VOTE FOR ABIGAIL SPANBERGER on 11/6!
