The following statement is from Prince William County Board Interim Chair Dr. Babur Lateef, who is doing a great job and deserves everyone’s vote on November 6! Check out the video, below Dr. Lateef’s statement, for video of Superintendent Walt’s report last night. Among other things, Superintendent Walt announced, “I’m extremely proud…that 100% of our schools have earned accreditation,” that “92.1% of students in the class of 2018 graduated on time” and that “we have now exceeded the graduation rate in Fairfax for the second year in a row.” Not too shabby! And now, here’s Dr. Lateef’s statement – go Babur!

I was excited to hear Superintendent Walt’s report last evening at our board meeting. He listed his budget priorities for this year. These budget priorities fall in line with exactly what I as Chair stand for. Over the last five months, I have made student success, safety and security, class size reduction, and increased teacher salaries my top priorities. I believe good leadership leads to successful outcomes when everyone buys into a set of shared values. I am happy to see our administration taking up the most important issues of the day. This is just the beginning of what I hope to achieve as Chair of the Prince William County School Board. Vote for PROVEN LEADERSHIP NOVEMBER 6.”
