Wow, add this breaking news from Richmond a few minutes ago to the news earlier today about the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, and…yeah, the people who want the pipelines (Dominion, EQT, etc.) must really be freaking out right about now. See below for more…including tweets and video from the State Water Control Board hearing and vote a little while ago.
UPDATE 3:49 pm – Emily Satterwhite (environmental activist, associate professor of Appalachian studies and popular culture at Virginia Tech) adds, “they have to give notice of a hearing. Lord knows how long DEQ will drag their feet because there is no stop work order in the meantime. Herring must file an injunction.” and “New member James Lofton made the motion. Yes: Dean, Jasinki (also new), Wayland. Members Heather Wood, Lou Ann Wallace and Tim Hayes said no. Replacing Roberta Kellam backfired on Northam! Not enough time for DEQ to brainwash new folks.”
Pretty big news: The state Water Control Board will reconsider one of Mountain Valley Pipeline’s permits (401 certification). New member James Lofton made the motion. Members Heather Wood, Lou Ann Wallace and Tim Hayes said no.

Lofton suggested doing the same for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, but there is some confusion about the authority to reconsider a certification when the ACP doesn’t have the same documented violations the MVP has
