House Democrats Respond to SCOTUS Denial of House Republicans’ Stay Request

(Richmond) – House Democratic Caucus Communications Director Kathryn Gilley released the following statement on SCOTUS’s decision to deny the House Republicans’ request for a stay in the redistricting case, allowing the drawing of new maps to continue.

“SCOTUS’s decision to allow the redistricting to move forward is a relief to all Virginian voters impacted by the racial gerrymandering. Despite House Republicans’ constant attempts to delay the redistricting and defend their unconstitutional districts, Virginians will be able to vote in constitutional elections in 2019.”
