The event featured speakers including Karenna Gore, William Barber III, Rev. Paul Wilson, Dawone Robinson, Karen Campblin, and others. According to Jonathan Sokolow:
“For many in the packed audience, the most dramatic part of the evening was the testimony of John Laury, cattle farmer, church deacon and long time resident of Union Hill. Laury told the story of how Dominion Energy is trying to destroy his historic community all in the name of profit and how people of faith have no choice but to fight this desecration.”
