See below for video of Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA02)’s town hall in Virginia Beach on Thursday. Obviously, the impeachment process was much discussed, with Luria saying:

“I truly feel that this is a sad time for our country; I did not go to Washington to impeach the president…but I’d also say I didn’t spend 20 years in uniform defending our country to watch something like this happen and to watch our constitution be trampled on…This instance is a clear instance of the president of the United States enlisting the help of a foreign leader to influence and malign a potential political opponent to affect the outcome of our next election, all under the guise of trying to fight corruption in another country.”

As Rep. Luria noted, however, it’s “very unfortunate” that we are in a situation “where we have to be focused on [impeachment],” but that’s “not Adam Schiff and it’s not the Democratic Party that got us here, it’s the actions of President Trump.” Luria added that she doesn’t care if she’s reelected or not over this, because “I did the right thing…and I will be able to look in the mirror 10 years from now and say I’m on the right side of history.” Luria also said, “We have elections every two years, so if you don’t like who is representing you, you can vote them out.”  Very, very impressive – go Rep. Luria!
