“I’ll tell you what, whether it’s education funding or whether it’s healthcare funding or protecting our environment or LGBT rights or women’s reproductive rights, criminal justice reform, all these topics, the ERA, everything was on the ballot, and we as Democrats are committed to making sure that we live up those promises. And so actions speak louder than words, so I’m not going to say a lot of words, but I am chair of the Militia Police and Public Safety Committee, where all the gun bills are likely to go through…And so we’re gonna have some really important change…This is going to be an exciting year. People say hey, what are you going to do differently? We’re not really going to do anything differently. You’re going to see the bills that have already been introduced. There’s bills that are forthcoming; they’re not going to be really surprising. There’s a lot of pent-up demand, a lot of things that we need to do in those topics that I mentioned. And you’re going to see firm commitment, firm dedication to those things. There’s a lot of those, particularly with the gun safety stuff with the gun sanctuary cities that are being set up. We’re not intimidated, we’re not deterred, in fact we’re more determined than ever before to make sure that we pass common-sense gun safety legislation and that will happen…”
