UPDATE: Here’s video of Mayor Pete! According to Mayor Pete: “There’s some hand wringing out there in the media about the fact that the Vice President is not getting the same sort of attention that the president is – for the simple reason that when you make a complete fool of yourself and your country from a podium in the White House you will get more attention than anybody doing the right thing, acting competently and decently as a presidential candidate. That’s not the kind of attention we want; the kind of attention you get by floating the idea of injecting bleach into people to deal with a pandemic…We’ve got to do the organizing to make sure that the quality versus quantity of attention and engagement matters.”

Pete Buttigieg Hosts Virtual Grassroots Organizing Training in Virginia

Today, Pete Buttigieg hosted a virtual grassroots organizing training with volunteers and supporters in Virginia.

The event included remarks from Buttigieg and a detailed training session led by Biden for President on how Virginians can help to virtually organize their communities for Joe Biden. The training also featured guidance on how to make community calls to neighbors in Virginia to check in on them during this time of crisis.

“There’s some hand-wringing out there in the media about the fact that the Vice President is not getting the same sort of attention that the President is for the simple reason that when you make a complete fool of yourself and your country from the podium of the White House, you will get more attention than anybody doing the right thing: acting competently and decently as a presidential candidate,” said Pete Buttigieg during the training. “We’ve got to do the organizing, to make sure that we get the quality versus quantity of attention and engagement. If we get it right, we are rewriting the playbook for American politics. The question of how our country emerges from this pandemic is nothing less than the question of how our country will establish the social and economic arrangements that are going to decide our future.”
