As Zuckerberg, Bezos, etc. Testify to House Committee, Sen. Mark Warner – One of the Leading Voices in Congress On the Tech Industry- Has Some Thoughts Worth Hearing

Among the many other reasons why he’s valuable in the U.S. Senate and should be overwhelmingly reelected this November, Sen. Mark Warner is one of the leading experts in Congress on the tech industry. As some of the titans of tech – Zuckerberg, Bezos, etc. – testify today to a House committee, Sen. Warner shares some thoughts that are well worth listening to.  See below for those, as well as video from the hearing. The main points are that: “It’s important we inspect these companies and their business practices – and ensure that they aren’t unfairly disadvantaging competition and harming consumers“; and that we need “innovative solutions that inject competition into these markets and rebalance the playing field in favor of consumers.” Personally, I’m all for breaking up these monopolistic companies and getting some serious competition going in social media, so that we’re not all trapped on the deeply flawed Facebook.
