See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (11/24), in Virginia we’re at 223,582 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 14,212 hospitalizations and 3,979 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 2,544 (+1.2%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,242 (+1.5%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 116 (+0.8%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 50 (+0.4%). Deaths are reported +37, compared to +4 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 3,187,267 (up 26,208 from yesterday; note that VDH did something weird last Friday with their total test #s, showing them up 183,605 in one day, which makes little/no sense…so, I’m not posting the total tests numbers or graphic).
