Congresswoman Elaine Luria’s Statement on 2020 Election Results in Virginia’s Second Congressional District

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Congresswoman Elaine Luria released the following statement on today’s election results:

“Thank you to the voters of the 2nd District who have entrusted me with a second term as their Representative and their voice in Congress. Now, more than ever, the challenges we face as a nation call for bipartisan solutions and cooperation across the political spectrum. For the past two years, that’s how I’ve worked in Congress. And as your representative, that’s what will continue to guide my efforts.

Together, we’ll fight to ensure that health care is more accessible and affordable, that small businesses lead the way in our economic recovery and that the benefits our veterans, servicemembers, and their families have earned are protected.”

Congresswoman Luria will address the results today at 1:00PM EST via Facebook Live.

Congresswoman Elaine Luria represents Virginia’s Second Congressional District, which includes all of Accomack and Northampton Counties, the cities of Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, as well as portions of Norfolk City, Hampton, and York and James City Counties. Congresswoman Luria serves on the House Armed Services Committee where she is Vice-Chair of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee and on the House Veterans Affairs Committee where she is the Chair of the Disability and Memorial Assistance Subcommittee.
