So, at this point (12/12), in Virginia we’re at 278,615 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 15,967 hospitalizations and 4,409 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,177 (+1.5%) in the latest statistics, which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,395 (+1.3%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 103 (+0.7%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 141 (+0.9%). Deaths are reported +39, compared to +35 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 3,670,781 (up 36,289 from yesterday).
