Thursday (12/3) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +2,023 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 244,503), +131 Hospitalizations (to 15,014), +34 Deaths (to 4,147)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (12/3), in Virginia we’re at 244,503 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 15,014 hospitalizations and 4,147 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 2,023 (+0.8%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 2,417 (+1.0%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 131 (+0.9%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 158 (+1.1%).  Deaths are reported +34, compared to +20 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 3,361,001 (up 10,105 from yesterday).
