Tuesday (12/1) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +2,228 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 240,063), +106 Hospitalizations (to 14,725), +31 Deaths (to 4,093)

According to VHHA, COVID-19 hospitalizations hit an all-time high.

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (12/1), in Virginia we’re at 240,063 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 14,725 hospitalizations and 4,093 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 2,228 (+0.9%) in the latest statistics, which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 1,893 (+0.8%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 106 (+0.7%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 47 (+0.3%).  Deaths are reported +31, compared to +4 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 3,341,426 (up 15,099 from yesterday).
