Tuesday (12/29) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +4,122 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 340,297), +177 Hospitalizations (to 17,782), +59 Deaths (to 4,920)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (12/29), in Virginia we’re at 340,297 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 17,782 hospitalizations and 4,920 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,122 (+1.2%) in the latest statistics, which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 2,599 (+0.8%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 177 (+1.0%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 57 (+0.3%).  Deaths are reported +59, compared to +7 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 4,168,673 (up 23,140 from yesterday).
