Interesting – Amanda Chase just announced that she’s reversing course, stating that she will NOT run as an Independent, as she’d been saying for months, but will instead “fully seek the Republican nomination.” Why? Because: 1) there is no serious path to victory as an Independent (ya think?); 2) a run as an Independent would “ensure that a Democrat would win” (again, ya think?); and 3) she’s concerned about division in the Republican Party (after she’s spent years sowing that division). So, with that, we’re talking about a battle royale between Kirk Cox, Amanda Chase and whatever other Republicans throw their hats in the ring for governor in 2021.
