So, at this point (1/10), in Virginia we’re at 398,856 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 19,095 hospitalizations and 5,383 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 5,141 (+1.3%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 5,798 (+1.5%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 70 (+0.4%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 107 (+0.6%). Deaths are reported +2, compared to +69 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 4,588,152 (up 50,192 from yesterday).
