Tuesday (1/19) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +4,526 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 451,076), +84 Hospitalizations (to 20,066), +59 Deaths (to 5,798)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (1/19), in Virginia we’re at 451,076 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 20,066 hospitalizations and 5,798 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,526 (+1.0%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 7,245 (+1.7%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 84 (+0.4%), which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 69 (+0.3%).  Deaths are reported +59, compared to +10 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 4,878,157 (up 25,428 from yesterday).
