Thursday (2/18) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +2,304 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 557,896), +89 Hospitalizations (to 23,268), +15 Deaths (to 7,090)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (2/18), in Virginia we’re at 557,896 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 23,268 hospitalizations and 7,090 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 2,304 (+0.4%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 2,284 (+0.4%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 89 (+0.4%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 137 (+0.6%).  Deaths are reported +15, compared to +38 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,679,834 (up 26,622 from yesterday).
