Just in case you had any doubt that elections matter, or that there’s a vast difference between Democrats and Republicans, check this out from VPAP. In short, Virginia House and Senate Republicans opposed almost everything Democrats proposed – from abolishing the death penalty to legalizing marijuana to setting emissions standards for motor vehicles to protecting/expanding the right to vote to combatting racism to protecting the environment to making sure Virginia workers are treated well to…you name it, basically. Any further questions regarding whether elections matter or whether the two major political parties are really, really different?
