Wednesday (3/10) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +1,246 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 589,375), +84 Hospitalizations (to 24,925), +59 Deaths (to 9,849)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (3/10), in Virginia we’re at 589,375 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 24,925 hospitalizations and 9,849 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went to 1,246 (+0.2%) in the latest statistics, which is a slightly slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 1,537 (+0.3%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 84 (+0.3%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 136 (+0.6%).  Deaths are reported +59, compared to +107 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 6,083,095 (up 16,772 from yesterday).

P.S. VDH notes, “VDH is now processing 2021 death certificates related to the post-holiday surge of COVID-19 cases. As a result, a larger number of deaths is expected to be added by report date.”
