So, at this point (5/8), in Virginia we’re at 666,111 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 28,876 hospitalizations and 10,885 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went to 779 (+0.1%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 938 (+0.1%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 56 (+0.2%), which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 49 (+0.2%). Deaths are reported +11 compared to +13 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,158,410 (up 18,224 from yesterday).
