With just under four days until the 6/8 Virginia Democratic primary, we FINALLY have some new public polling – by Roanoke College. See below for highlights:
- For governor, it’s Terry McAuliffe 48%-Jennifer Carroll Foy 11%-Jennifer McClellan 9%-Justin Fairfax 5%-Lee Carter 1% (Undecided is 27%)
- Including who people say they already voted for, Roanoke College recalculates the governor’s race as: McAuliffe 49%-Carroll Foy 11%-McClellan 9%-Fairfax 5%-Carter 1% (Undecided is 24%)
- For LG, it’s Hala Ayala 15%-Sam Rasoul 9%-Mark Levine 7%-Andria McClellan 7%-Sean Perryman 3%-Xavier Warren 3% (still 49% undecided, though, so who the heck knows?!?)
- Including who people say they already voted for, Roanoke College recalculates this LG’s race as: Ayala 16%-Rasoul 11%-Levine 7%-McClellan 7%-Perryman 3%-Warren 2% (Undecided still 45%, which is wild considering the election is in <100 hours!)
- For AG, Mark Herring leads 49%-20% over Jay Jones, with 31% still undecided.
- Recalculating based on who people already voted for, Roanoke College has it as Herring 50%-Jones 20% (and still 28% undecided).
- “A plurality of Virginians (47%) approve of the way Biden is handling his job as president, while 39% disapprove. A majority (53%) of respondents think the country is on the wrong track while 42% think it is headed in the right direction. The results are almost unchanged since the February Roanoke College Poll other than a rise in disapproval for Biden.“
- Among Dems, Gov. Ralph Northam has an 81%-9% favorable rating. Overall, approval of Northam is at 47%-35%. About half “of respondents think that Virginia is headed in the right direction, but 40% think it is on the wrong track.“
- Among Dems, Sen. Mark Warner has an 85%-5% favorable rating.
- Among Dems, Sen. Tim Kaine has a 79%-7% favorable rating.
- Among Dems, President Joe Biden has a 90%-6% favorable rating.
- Among Dems, Terry McAuliffe has a 73%-9% favorable rating.
- Among Dems, Jennifer Carroll Foy has a 34%-4% favorable rating.
- Among Dems, Jennifer McClellan has a 32%-4% favorable rating.
- Among Dems, Lee Carter has a 10%-4% favorable rating.
- Among Dems, Justin Fairfax has a 39%-22% favorable rating.
