Powerful New Video: Pittsylvania NAACP, Indigenous and Community Leaders Continue the Fight Against Mountain Valley Pipeline

by Jon Sokolow

In May, the Pittsylvania County NAACP, Indigenous leaders and community organizations completed a “Water Walk” to highlight the destruction being wrought by construction of the Mountain Valley Pipeline and the new threat posed by MVP’s proposed Lambert compressor station. Now, Artivism Virginia has produced this powerful new video documenting the Water Walk and calling Virginians to action to stop MVP – which is years behind schedule and billions of dollars over budget – once and for all.

On July 7, the State Air Pollution Control Board will hold a public hearing on whether to issue an air permit for the Lambert compressor station. On June 29, the NAACP will hold this event, a “Community Conversation: Pittsylvania Lambert Compressor Station – What You Need to Know.”  You can register for the event here.

If you are concerned about our air and water, if you are angered by fossil fuel companies continuing pattern of targeting poor and marginalized communities and if you think Virginia needs to do more to stop this insanity, this fight is your fight! Watch Artivism Virginia’s powerful new video!  And register now for the NAACP’s Lambert Compressor station event set for June 29.
