From the Democratic Party of Virginia:

Glenn Youngkin is in Favor of Prolonging the Pandemic, Putting Families and Children At Risk

Richmond, VA — Youngkin’s desperate obsession with pleasing Donald Trump and his extreme base will put Virginians’ health and safety at risk. Youngkin has already made clear he intends to model himself after Ron DeSantis — whose reckless, anti-COVID safety “leadership” has been a disaster for Floridians. Youngkin is also empowering anti-vaccine extremists like Amanda Chase, whose reckless rhetoric is jeopardizing Virginia’s fight against COVID-19.

As he struggles to appeal to his far right base, Youngkin is leaning further and further into the GOP’s anti-COVID safety crusade. Glenn is joining Republicans across the country as they double down on their opposition to COVID safety measures. His extreme stances are a danger to Virginians — and they put him on the wrong side of this critical issue.

As Democrats work to lead us out of this devastating pandemic, Glenn is doubling down on his vehement opposition to the safety measures that will keep Virginia families safe. Just last week, Youngkin reiterated that he is committed to following Ron DeSantis’ lead and ignoring CDC guidelines on masking.

“Glenn Youngkin has made it clear: he is in favor of prolonging this devastating pandemic in order to please his far right base,” said Manuel Bonder, DPVA spokesman. “Anyone who is willing to put Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis ahead of the health and safety of Virginia families belongs nowhere near the governorship.”
