So, at this point (10/22) in Virginia we’re at 914,755 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 38,269 hospitalizations and 13,668 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases was +1,665 (+0.18%) since Thursday morning’s stats, compared to +1,779 (+0.20%) in Thursday morning’s stats [NOTE: VDH isn’t publicly updating its stats on the weekends anymore, for whatever reasons…frustrating for keeping an accurate count of the statistics, for creating graphics that make sense, and also premature given that the pandemic most certainly isn’t over!]. As for hospitalizations, they went up 75 (+0.20%) since Thursday morning’s stats, compared to 66 (+0.17%) in Thursday morning’s stats. Deaths are reported +44 since Thursday morning’s stats, compared to +39 in Thursday morning’s stats. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 9,787,200 (up 24,229 since Thursday morning’s stats).
