See below for the latest COVID-19 statistics for Virginia, courtesy of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA). As you can see, total cases hit 1,565,522, up 7,139 since the Wednesday morning report and up 84,228 over the past 10 days (that’s significantly lower than last Thursday’s 10-day increase of 117,707); the Omicron wave appears to be declining. As for hospitalizations, according to VDH, we’re now at a cumulative 47,236, down 320 (data adjustment?) from the Wednesday morning statistics (also, VHHA now has hospitalizations at 2,578…on a definite downward trajectory). And deaths are at 16,548, up 136 from the Wednesday morning statistics (deaths seem to be lagging the decline in cases and hospitalizations).
