See below for the latest COVID-19 statistics for Virginia, courtesy of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA). As you can see, total cases hit 1,584,268, up 12,246 since the Friday morning report and up 58,677 over the past 10 days (the lowest 10-day increase since late December 2021); the Omicron wave definitely appears to be declining. As for hospitalizations, according to VDH, we’re now at a cumulative 47,201, up 53 from the Friday morning statistics (also, VHHA now has hospitalizations at 2,250…on a definite downward trajectory; the lowest level since the end of December). And deaths are at 17,107, up 404 from the Friday morning statistics (the trend in deaths seems to be lagging the decline in cases and hospitalizations).
