The results from today’s elections for Democratic Party of Virginia officers were just announced. See below for results from the contested elections, as well as video. Congralutations to the new and reelected officers; now, let’s go forward and WIN this November and beyond!

P.S. In her remarks following her reelection, Swecker said we all need to work together, that we’re “damn proud [of our record] and damn proud to be Democrats,” and that:

“And now, with a Republicans in control of the governor’s mansion, our Commonwealth needs us more than ever. Gov. Youngkin and his far-right allies came to Richmond thinking they were going to work all over us and reverse the progress we’ve made. From day #1, Youngkin looked to divide…signed executive orders causing chaos and confusion in our schools…he sought to tear us apart, he tried to intimidate teachers, heck he even bullied our own Ethan Lynne on Twitter when he couldn’t take on our own Democratic legislators; I mean, how despicable was that? But you know what happened? Glenn Youngkin walked right into a brick wall, much like his benched basketball career and got taught a lesson in Government 101. Look, we had a tough year last year, and we all know it. But instead of retreating to our corners like the Republicans thought we would, we came together to fight, to push back against Republicans and stand up for the people of Virginia…We’re going make his terms a VERY long four years for him, we’re not going to give him an inch. “

So true. With that, here are the results:

  • DPVA Chair: Susan Swecker
  • Second Vice Chair for Rules: Marc Broklawski
  • Vice Chair for Technology and Communications: Ricardo Alfaro
  • Secretary: Isaac Sarver
  • Vice Chair for Outreach: Sen. Louise Lucas
