As headlines today warn us that “The World Is Burning Once Again,” Virginia’s governor is a climate denier whose top energy/enviro advisor is Trump’s horrendous former EPA director, Andrew Wheeler. What could possibly go wrong? Also note that the recent flooding in Buchanan County is quite possibly a result of, or exacerbated by, the climate crisis, yet Youngkin hasn’t said a word about that connection, instead pushing to make matters WORSE by trying to pull Virginia out of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), “jeopardizing our flood relief funding” AND slowing our (inevitable) transition to 100% clean energy. It’s just plain vile, or if you rearrange those four letters, EVIL.
RGGI, a Virginia climate law, protects communities from dangerous sea level rise — but Gov. Youngkin wants to undo it.
We’re shedding light on his cynical attempt to score political points by playing with Virginians’ lives. Here’s our latest ad: pic.twitter.com/dKwTI7vHlg
