See below for the latest COVID-19 statistics for Virginia, courtesy of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA). As you can see, total cases hit 1,890,973 (note: many people are now testing at home, so it’s very possible/likely that the case numbers are an underestimate, maybe a large one; on this note, see ‘We’re playing with fire’: US Covid cases may be 30 times higher than reported), up 3,542 since the Thursday morning report and up 28,314 over the past 10 days (waaaayyyy down from the 10-day average of 198,847 on 1/19). As for hospitalizations, according to VDH, we’re now at a cumulative 53,159, up 55 from the Thursday morning statistics (also, VHHA has hospitalizations at 659… waaaayyyy down from the peak of around 4,000 back in January, although up from their low point earlier this spring). And deaths are at 20,740, up 24 from the Thursday morning statistics.
