Republican Jen Kiggans Changes Her Tune on Law and Order
National Journal: “Republican incumbents appeared to become the party of ‘defund the police’ in a matter of hours.”

Republican Jen Kiggans’ shameless hypocrisy was on full display last night.

After the news that the FBI searched Donald Trump’s Florida home Mar-a-Lago, suddenly Kiggans changed her tune on backing law enforcement, saying, “The dangerous precedent the Democrats set yesterday by weaponizing the FBI should anger and frighten every American. All to settle old political scores and silence their political opponents.”

The manufactured outrage is a complete flip flop from Jen Kiggans’ previous assertion that “we need to restore strength in our communities by standing with our law enforcement,” and the irony won’t be lost on Virginians. As National Journal put it: “Republican incumbents appeared to become the party of ‘defund the police’ in a matter of hours.”

Instead of letting law enforcement do its job, Republicans immediately leapt to spread baseless conspiracy theories and attack the integrity of the FBI. Last night made clear: Trump’s Republican Party has no conviction that won’t collapse like a house of cards the second it serves them politically.

“Yet again, Jen Kiggans demonstrates she has no backbone to speak of and will abandon her convictions the second it serves her politically,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “If Kiggans really respected the law, she would let law enforcement do their work instead of spreading baseless conspiracy theories and attacking the integrity of the FBI.”
