Vega Aligned Herself “100%” With Group That Asks Candidates to Ban Abortion with No Exceptions for Rape or Incest
Yesli Vega fundraised off being the only candidate who answered “National Pro-Life Alliance’s survey and answered it 100% in support of life”

New reporting from NBC 4 reveals that Republican Yesli Vega said she answered National Pro-Life Alliance’s survey “100% in support of life” – a survey that asks candidates to commit to a constitutional amendment that bans abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest.

In a fundraising email in June, just days before Roe v. Wade was overturned, Vega said “I’m the only one who has even answered the National Pro-Life Alliance’s survey and answered it 100% in support of life.”

The survey in question asks candidates to support an “amendment to the U.S. Constitution banning abortion except to save the life of the mother,” ban prescription drugs that can be used to induce an abortion, and give parents the right to prevent their child from accessing abortion – even in cases of rape or incest.

When questioned by NBC 4, Vega tried to paper over her position, claiming she supports exceptions for rape or incest – but notably has not released her National Pro-Life Alliance survey that she answered “100% in support of life.”

“Yesli Vega knows her extreme efforts to outlaw abortion for millions of Virginia women are dangerous, unpopular, and deeply out of touch,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “Vega’s support for banning abortion nationally – with no exceptions for women and girls in the most devastating situations – is going to be top of mind for voters this November.”
