DCCC Releases New TV Ads in VA-02

The DCCC released two new TV ads in the race for Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, “Sorry” and “Gurney,” highlighting the threat that Republican Jen Kiggans poses to abortion access and reproductive health care for Virginians.

“Sorry,” and “Gurney” paint a picture of what could happen in Virginia if Jen Kiggans and her extremist anti-abortion allies get control of Congress: Women, doctors, and nurses could be prosecuted for providing health care. Both ads highlight Jen Kiggans’ anti-abortion votes in the state legislature, and “Gurney” highlights how prosecutions are already happening across the country in the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned – and warns that the worst could be yet to come with Jen Kiggans in Congress.

The ads – the second and third to run in VA-02 from the DCCC IE – are airing in the Norfolk media market beginning today and are part of the committee’s previously announced investments in key battleground districts.

WATCH: “Gurney”

“GURNEY” TRANSCRIPT:

If politician Jen Kiggans and her extremist anti-abortion allies get control of Congress,

ending my high-risk pregnancy safely could mean prosecution.

And not just for me, but for the doctors and nurses who provide my health care.

Kiggans already voted to restrict our reproductive freedom.

Now prosecutions are happening across the nation.

With Jen Kiggans in Congress, the worst is yet to come.

WATCH: “Sorry”
“SORRY” TRANSCRIPT:

Woman: I need help.

Nurse: I’m sorry, thanks to politicians like Jen Kiggans who applauded the overturning of Roe, and voted to restrict your reproductive freedom…

Woman: There’s nowhere to go?

Nurse: It’s worse than that. If Kiggans’ extremist allies in Congress get their way, you are potentially a criminal – and so am I.

Woman: But let me explain my situation –

Nurse: I’m sorry. We won’t be able to help you.

Narrator: Not anymore. Not in Jen Kiggans’ Virginia.
