Will Jen Kiggans Stand Up for Ukraine?
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Yesterday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14) vowed that Congressional Republicans would cut security and humanitarian funding to Ukraine as the country continues to fight back against Russia’s unjustified invasion.
“Under Republicans, not another penny will go to Ukraine,” Rep. Greene said.
Bearing Drift, Virginia’s Conservative Voice, slammed Kiggans for refusing to say where she stands on aid to Ukraine: “In other words, as Republican support for Putin grows, the would-be Congresswoman refuses to speak out for the democracy under siege.”
The Virginian Pilot editorial board slammed Kiggans in August: “After announcing her bid for Congress, she apparently decided that the path to victory is the selling of her soul,” and compared her Rep. Greene.
“From refusing to say that Joe Biden won a free and fair election in 2020 to threatening to cut critical security and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Republicans have made clear they have a problem with democracy,” Congresswoman Luria said. “As a 20-year Navy veteran, I find it unconscionable that Congressional Republicans would cut funding and assistance to the people of Ukraine as they continue to defend their democracy from this unjustified and unprovoked invasion.”
In a recent interview, Kevin McCarthy threatened that if Republicans take control of the House, Social Security and Medicare are on the chopping block. McCarthy also recently campaigned for Jen Kiggans where she endorsed McCarthy’s plan that could cut Virginians’ benefits saying – “I think it’s a great plan.”
