RELEASE: Bagby for Congress Releases First Radio Ad of Campaign, Highlighting Rep. McEachin’s Legacy and Bagby’s Record as Chair of Black Caucus

New Ad Airing on Black Radio Stations Across the District

Ad Features Mayor Levar Stoney and Supervisor Tyrone Nelson

Richmond, VA – Today, Bagby for Congress launched the first radio ad of his campaign, highlighting Rep. Donald McEachin’s legacy and Delegate Lamont Bagby’s record as Chairman of the Black Caucus. The ad will be airing on Black radio stations across the fourth district, and will encourage Virginians to vote for Lamont Bagby on Tuesday, December 20.

Delegate Bagby has spent nearly a decade in the House of Delegates as a champion for Virginia’s most vulnerable communities, ensuring everyone has equitable access to a world class education, a roof over their head, and economic mobility. Since elected, Delegate Bagby has become an emergent leader, undertaking an ambitious agenda to break cycles of poverty by providing quality healthcare, inclusionary affordable housing, environmental, and justice reforms, and equity in education.

SUPERVISOR TYRONE NELSON: Democrats, this is Tyrone Nelson. As we mourn Congressman McEachin, we continue his legacy by voting on Tuesday December the twentieth to fill his seat. My friend Delegate Lamont Bagby was mentored by Congressman McEachin. Together they fought for justice and equality—and criminal and environmental reforms. As a teacher and servant leader, Lamont ran a promise center that uplifts families who need it most.

As a pastor, I know Lamont is the voice we need.

MAYOR LEVAR STONEY: This is Mayor Levar Stoney asking you to vote on Tuesday December twentieth for Lamont Bagby. As chair of the black caucus, Lamont raised the minimum wage, championed affordable housing, expanded voting rights, passed gun safety laws and ran predatory lenders out of Virginia.

Voting is at a special location. Not your normal polling place. Find out where at bagbyforcongress.com.

LAMONT BAGBY: I’m Lamont Bagby running for Congress and I approve this message.

NELSON: Paid for by Bagby for Congress
