BREAKING/Video: Sen. Tim Kaine Announces He WILL Run for Reelection

4

UPDATE 10:22 am – The CSPAN feed seemed to go out, but anyway…Sen. Kaine has announced he WILL run for reelection. Phew!

UPDATE 10:11 am – Sen. Kaine’s roundtable appears to have ended; should get an announcement any minute.

Sen. Tim Kaine will announce in a few minutes whether he will/will not run for reelection to the U.S. Senate. Kaine was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012, after Jim Webb decided to quit after one term. Then Kaine was releected in 2018, after losing the only election of his political career as Hillary Clinton’s running mate in 2016.  Kaine also has served as Governor of Virginia (2006-2010), Lt. Governor of Virginia (2002-2006) and Mayor of Richmond (1998-2001), plus the Richmond City Council from 1994 to 2001. Needless to say, Kaine has had an EXTREMELY consequential career (and life), including having accomplished a tremendous amount in the U.S. Senate. And also needless to say, if Kaine DOES run for reelection, he’d be the strong favorite to win in 2024, which is a presidential year. So…fingers crossed, and check out the C-SPAN live stream here.
